We are seeking a highly experienced Cultural Resources Practice Leader to lead our growing team of more than seventy cultural resource experts across offices in California and the Pacific Northwest. Within ESA, Practice Leaders are the most senior position leading company-wide strategy, strategic business development, and technical excellence for their respective practice. This role requires someone with exceptional leadership skills and a demonstrated record of business success and growth as evidences by at least 10 years of experience creating and delivering successful business development and marketing strategies.

What You Will Do for ESA
Leverage market knowledge, industry insight, and business acumen to develop the Cultural Resource strategic business plan then achieve annual plan goals for the practice across all regions, including contract acquisition targets.
Maintain and grow an extensive professional network including decision-makers within client organizations and regulatory agencies to result in expansion of portfolio across regions. Identify appropriate areas of investment and balance operational requirements with mid- and long-term responsible growth.
Optimize project performance by ensuring technical veracity, principles and practices of proactive project management, risk management and quality control are implemented. Demonstrate solution-oriented and collaborative communication, ensuring practice issues are addressed in a timely and constructive manner.
Lead practice talent acquisition and development, including continual assessment of market and service needs to ensure best in class talent are recruited, supported, and developed to achieve exceptional industry recognition of ESA as consultant and employer of choice.
Establish and implement technical and methodological standards for the Cultural Resources Practice and ensure that QA/QC standards that meet or exceed professional standards are consistently met.

Our Cultural Resources Team includes prehistoric and historical archaeologists, geoarchaeological specialists, and tribal consultation specialists that provide expertise for many local, state, and federal agencies throughout the west coast and southeast. Who You Are
An exceptional leader with 15+ years of relevant experience developing and delivering consulting services related to cultural resources across various markets, including leadership roles on hallmark projects.
You are a cultural resource specialist who has significant experience and a demonstrated record of business success and growth as evidenced by at least 10 years of creating and delivering successful business development and marketing strategies.
You hold a Bachelor’s degree and professional experience meeting the Secretary of Interior’s Professional Standards and are able to pass a federal and state background check for project-based assignments.
You are an effective team member and communicator with demonstrated experience working collaboratively and effectively with clients, agencies, tribal representatives, corporate executives, and staff at all levels.
You have deep experience regarding Section 106/NHPA/NEPA/CEQA/SEPA/Tribal consultationdocuments on multi-disciplinaryprojects types, such asinfrastructure, natural and cultural resource management, and development. Work with public infrastructure (transportation, water, and energy), private development, airports and seaports, recreation and parks, general and specific plans, and adaptation/resiliency is helpful.
