Francis Parker School is a coeducational independent day school in San Diego, California with 1310 students in grades JK-12. One in Mission Hills (Lower School JK-5), and a second in Linda Vista (Middle and Upper School 6-8 and 9-12, respectively).
Francis Parker School is seeking an Audio/Video/Lighting Engineer to start in July. This position provides specialized technical assistance and audio-visual services to the school program and classrooms, school events, as well as non-school organizations making use of the School’s meeting spaces.
Use calendaring software to support events and proactively manage AV needs for events
Design audio, video, and lighting as needed for events
Set up and break down equipment used for each event
Collaborate with school departments on needs prior to each event
Monitor equipment use and ensure equipment is in good working condition
Report to the Director of Instructional Technology and Information Systems on needed repairs and replacements, and maintain current technological standards of performance and availability.
Manage and control AV inventory use, checkouts and returns, and document where all equipment is and its state of repair and technological viability
Coordinate with Technology, Arts, Athletics, Advancement and other Events for special needs and events where your services, such as event set up and recording, are requested
Knowledge and experience in live streaming
Mentor and train teachers in use of AV technology
Do annual inventory of school AV needs, provide replacement schedule and plan for educational needs of upcoming school year
Always ensure AV technology is ready and viable in the classroom and event space, planning for the entire academic year prior to school fall openings
Knowledge of live sound mixing and ability to use digital mixing consoles
Knowledge of live sound amplification and ability to set up and operate wired/wireless microphones, amplifiers, and stage monitors
Knowledge of live stage lighting and ability to use digital lighting consoles
Ability to manipulate lighting fixtures and change light bulbs and color gels
Knowledge of Mac OS X and Windows platforms and computer hardware for purposes of display configurations
Familiarity with multiple versions of Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides and Keynote
Knowledge of video projectors and image scaling technology
Willingness and interest in maintaining skills to stay abreast of technology
Ability to lift 50 pounds, walk/climb ladders, and see and hear clearly
