Baker Botts, a leading global law firm, is seeking a Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator to join our growing team. The Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the Director of Diversity, Senior Coordinator and Diversity Committee in developing and implementing the Firm’s diversity initiatives. This is a Firmwide, full-time, exempt position with excellent benefits and can be resident in our Houston, New York or Washington, D.C. office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assisting the Diversity and Inclusion Team and Diversity Committee in planning and scheduling all aspects of diversity-related programs and events.
Gathering data, drafting responses and coordinating the submission of diversity-related industry benchmarking and client surveys.
Interacting with outside vendors and organizations on the facilitation of various diversity activities and projects.
Updating and maintaining the diversity & inclusion intranet and website pages (including the events calendar, resources list, programs and partnerships, etc.).
Assisting with the creation of D&I collateral materials.
Coordinating event details and logistics for Diversity & Inclusion meetings, lunches, receptions and retreats including registration, RSVP tracking, conference room/venue reservations, arrange video and teleconferencing support; and coordinate with firmwide event planning department on larger firm wide conferences.
Serving as administrative liaison to the Firm's Diversity Committee and the affinity Groups, including preparing minutes during meetings.
Maintaining a calendar of internal and external diversity events and initiatives.
Assisting with diversity conference registrations and sponsorships.
Assisting with OFCCP recordkeeping and reporting.
Other tasks as assigned and/or requested by the Diversity and Inclusion Team.
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus.
Minimum 2 years’ experience of closely related experience and/or project management experience at a law firm, government agency, or professional services organization.
Experience working in a legal or other global professional services firm.
Recruiting, marketing, communications, professional development, or diversity experience is preferred.
Excellent writing, research and organizational skills, a detail-oriented and proactive approach to projects.
Ability to work well with minimal supervision, a strong client-service orientation, and an interest in diversity issues are mandatory.
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Highly proficient in PowerPoint and Excel.
Strong interpersonal skills to interact with attorneys and staff at all levels within a large law firm setting.
Demonstrated ability to deal with confidential and highly sensitive information.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience creating content for web and print-based publications.
Proactive self-starter who can self-manage and work as part of a team, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, intellectually rigorous environment.
