The Instructional Technology Specialist serves as an important contributor for the portfolio of Learning and Digital Products designed to serve the learning needs of DIA members and customers globally.
This position is accountable for managing DIA’s Learning Management System and considered the subject matter expert concerning its capabilities. This position provides frontline customer support to those needing technical assistance, account management for enterprise clients, and internal support for all products hosted in the LMS. This position will also be responsible for the collection, execution, management, oversight, and delivery of content materials for DIA’s proprietary platform, DIANOW.
Administer DIA’s learning management system including system troubleshooting to ensure it is operational 24/7.
Set up products hosted in the LMS including but not limited to online courses (SCORM, AICC, etc.), webinars, blended learning, classroom courses, multimedia products, resources, assessments, certificate programs, and surveys.
Possess knowledge and build out the knowledge of the LMS and all updates to ensure full utilization of components that enhance the delivery of learning and development for the organization.
Stay updated of developments in the field of online learning and learning technology, including best practices, new solutions, and emerging trends.
Complete LMS alpha and beta testing, user management, portal and/or reporting customizations.
Perform regular LMS quality assurance checks to ensure proper system functionality, courseware deployment, and testing in the development environment and production environments.
Test for LMS system upgrades and implementation of new system functionality.
Investigate and identify issues as they arise, work collaboratively with IT and vendor technical support to resolve issues as needed.
Create and manage LMS governance and provide LMS training to internal administrators.
Create and compile reports for user enrollment, test and survey data, and other LMS analytics.
Participate in testing of online courses and digital systems for quality assurance.
Support updates and edits to existing course content using eLearning software skills.
Project coordination/management of all day-to-day activities related to DIA NOW project execution in accordance with project specifications including user enrollment.
Coordinate and implement meeting (virtual/webinar/face to face) content, editorial and resource efforts in the project development for DIA NOW platform.
Create and update system requirement documents, test plans, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Act as the first point of contact for technical support and troubleshooting issues.
Perform video editing for learning and digital products.
Provide day-to-day customer support for online product inquiries, purchases, access, continuing educations credits, and related questions.
Provide account management for enterprise clients including contract management, invoicing, user enrollment, reporting, and acts as ongoing support.
Special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree is required with major in instructional design, instructional systems technology, educational technologies, information technology, or related field preferred or, related experience.
Minimum of 5+ years’ overall work experience and 2+ years’ of experience managing a LMS with a passion for educational technology.
Experience in instructional design and development of online courses consistent with sound adult learning design principles, including the use of multimedia technology and training in an instructor-led and blended-learning environment.
Experience developing courses using a variety of software: Articulate Storyline 2, Articulate 360, Camtasia, Audacity, and other development tools preferred.
Knowledge of HTML, InDesign, JW Player and Photoshop a plus.
Strong computer skills and expertise in other relevant systems and software such as Microsoft Windows/Office, CMS Sitecore 9.0, and AMS Personify.
Working knowledge of AWS cloud architecture and data storage fundamentals.
Ability to learn new processes and technologies quickly and apply them to work.
Motivated, highly organized and detailed-oriented; able to plan, monitor and complete multiple projects to deliver quality meetings.

Fluent in English. Proficiency in other languages a bonus.
