Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelorâs degree and 3 years of related experience
Experience in managing research/technology projects (especially those in wireless, networking, software, and/or IT) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification Experience with with public-private partnerships
The National Science Foundation Platforms for Advanced Wireless Research (PAWR) program (https://advancedwireless.org/about-pawr) is hiring a Research Administrator. The PAWR program is enabling experimental exploration of new wireless devices, communication techniques, networks, systems, and services that will revolutionize the nationâs wireless ecosystem while sustaining US leadership and economic competitiveness for decades to come. One mission of the project team is to establish a large-scale, first-of-its-kind wireless living lab encompassing bleeding-edge technologies and innovation platforms (e.g., those for free-space optical communication, mmWave, massive MIMO, LEO satcom, URLLC, communications and networking softwarization, AR/VR, and precision agriculture) and to collaborate with a broad ecosystem of public-private partners in advancing the frontiers of wireless systems, edge/cloud computing, and rural broadband.
Lead and manage various aspects (e.g., equipment acquisition, infrastructure buildout, software development, schedule, budget, teaming, and/or risk-mitigation) of development of a large-scale, first-of-its-kind wireless living lab encompassing bleeding-edge technologies and innovation platforms such as those for free-space optical communication, mmWave, massive MIMO, LEO satcom, URLLC, communications and networking softwarization, AR/VR, and precision agriculture
Interact with sponsors (e.g., PAWR Project Office, NSF, USDA NIFA) in project reporting (e.g., quarterly report) and communication
Interact with public-private partners in project execution
Work with the rest of the team in research and funding acquisition
Lead the establishment, operation, and growth of the public-privater partnership for the wireless living lab for rural broadband and smart and connected rural communities in general
Lead and participate in research, development, commercialization, and funding acquisition activities in collaboration with public-private partners
Lead relevant marketing and engagement activities of the public-private partnership;Â
Level Guidelines â¢ Intermediate-level position with solid professional and/or technical skills working under general supervision to achieve goals â¢ Applies broad, working knowledge of the principles of the field to moderately complex, difficult, and varied problems and issues â¢ Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action and resolve problems â¢ Responds to a broad range of inquiries and requests â¢ May provide training and/or direction to lower-level staff â¢ May lead projects of moderate scope and complexity â¢ Provides guidance to students
