The Alpha Platform Management Team is looking to bring on a Principal Design Strategist with hands on experience in designing user experience visions for our platform clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a small core team of product space strategists to produce a strategy led vision
- Drive innovation on a vision team defining the Alpha Portal
- Define the visual language of the Alpha Portal in consideration of State Street's and Alpha's brand guidelines, working with a team of designers to execute
- Provide high-level direction and be hands on with a beautiful visual language, comprehensive design system and guiding design principles
- Hire, mentor and evaluate staff tactical designers
- Oversee and ensure quality delivery of design work
- Facilitate and/or aid in design workshops
- Contribute to creating and fostering a human-centered design culture & process
- Influence wider organization to achieve solutions that are right for our customers
Qualifications:
- Expert in applied design strategy
- Demonstrated success in leading vision work, especially for a financial services or investment management firm
- 7-10+ years of UI creative strategy & direction or related experience preferred, specifically for enterprise digital products
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in related discipline (HCI, Industrial Design, Cognitive Psychology, Graphic Design, Architecture, Library Sciences, etc.)
- An online portfolio that demonstrates your design talent and skills in conceptual modelling, information architecture, user flows, information visualization, and mock-ups
- knowledge and understanding of user-centered design process in product development environment
- Proven ability to generate end-to-end designs - from concept through production detailing
- Demonstrated experience developing and communicating UI design guidelines and design specifications
- Proven effectiveness working in global agile teams that include product management, engineering, QA, documentation and other UX professionals
- Applying qualitative and quantitative feedback and other data sources to identify trends and support data-driven design decisions
- Understand the enterprise's business goals and how to apply to vision design work
- Demonstrated proficiency with wireframing and prototyping tools, specifically Figma or others
- Experience using user-research methods, analytics, and other insights to guide product direction
- Excellent written and verbal skills for collaboration with developers and executives

Our interoperable platform will also enable clients to integrate and align their preferred systems utilizing State Street provided data, as well as access to liquidity, insights and infrastructure.
