As the Engineer, you will direct activities to fulfill our mission to provide safe, reliable, cost-effective electricity to all customers by ensuring proper planning and design of electric facilities that will meet the present and future needs for customers, while meeting all applicable safety, regulatory and construction standards. You will also manage all aspects of construction and reconstruction of electrical sub-transmission, substations and distribution lines from inception to conclusion. In addition, you will supervise support personnel related to operations and represent the company to consumers, community and industry all while demonstrating the commitment to rural development and community relations. Your goal each day will be to foster a collaborative/team-oriented working climate to maximize employee safety, morale and productivity.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
5 years of experience, (equivalent combination of education and experience), some supervisory experience beneficial
Valid driver's license
Professional Engineer (PE) credential or ability to obtain PE credential (preferred)
Ability to read electrical and engineering plans and specifications for the construction and reconstruction of electrical sub-transmission and distribution lines and substations
Ability to analyze data and communicate results in clear and concise language
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Knowledge of database software, Internet software, project-management software, spreadsheet software and word processing software
Available for planned and emergency overtime
Ability to speak professionally and effectively individually and in groups with customers or employees
