Northwoods Animal Hospital in Cary, NC, is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a full time Veterinary Practice Manager.
We are a 3-doctor, AAHA Accredited, small animal practice that is committed to providing high quality and compassionate medicine to our families and their pets. Our practice provides full service care including wellness and sick patient services, boarding, bathing, surgery, full body and dental digital radiography, and in-house as well as reference laboratories services. We place a premium on individual care for each of our patient.
We are looking for a dedicated individual who has strong leadership qualities and the desire to help lead our team, is willing to learn and embrace our culture and standard operating procedures while making a concerted effort to enhance and grow the culture and procedures. Who is proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and Quick Books. Accounting or bookkeeping knowledge a plus. Experience using AVImark software being preferred. Has a minimum of 3-5 years of recent veterinary practice management experience and is compassionate with a positive attitude and has a good work ethic. The ideal candidate will be a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM), but not required.
Responsibilities include day-to-day operations with a major focus on personnel management including all aspects of Human resources. Other valuable experience includes strong initiative, ability to work independently, proficient knowledge of accounts receivable/payable and payroll, Supervises all staff.
Be able to review, analyze and strategically plan from findings in financial reports, budgets, and Profit & Loss statements
Ensures daily, quarterly, and annual financial information is accurate and is responsible for all accounting functions and helps create, achieves, and maintains all financial goals for the practice
Have strong attention to detail and an eye for accuracy
Manage bi-weekly payroll process
Responsible for all basic human resource duties including onboarding, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, terminations, maintenance of personnel records including attendance and wage records
HR policies and protocol development.
Develops and updates the employee handbook, written job descriptions, employee personnel files.
Assessing and implement training programs for each department
Facilitates resolution of client problems
Assisting with client and employee concerns
Manage staff scheduling including DVM schedules, experience with staff meetings, conducting performance reviews, and aid in our marketing and social media presence
Oversees all inventory management and is responsible for purchasing of all office, administrative, and equipment supplies and equipment
Oversight of facility, inventory and equipment maintenance and upkeep
Maintain and manage all benefits including all insurances, retirement plan, PTO records, and employee veterinary benefits
Maintain company website and online stores and all internet sites information
Oversees all DEA records
Have good working knowledge of computer hardware and software
Maintain and manage Practice management software
Creates and upholds all Hospital policies and protocols
Maintain positive relationships with vendors and outside contractors
Oversees and Upholds all safety and OSHA regulations and paperwork
Assure compliance with OSHA reporting logs and Workers’ Compensation programs.

You must be legally authorized to work in the United States
We are looking for 3-5 years of Veterinary Management experience
You must be willing to undergo a background check, in accordance with local law/regulations
You must have Quickbooks, payroll, and human resource knowledge and managing AviMark Practice Management software is a plus
