Assist the Technical Department to plan, coordinate, implement, and oversee technical production details and logistics for Departments of Music, Dance, and Theater productions at the Eisner Center.
Essential Job Functions:
Clarify production requirements, determine rehearsal/performance schedules, establish student crew needs and call times, working with faculty, students, and staff; schedule student crew for these calls. Oversee the smooth execution of performances and events. Act as Stage Manager for selected events and may call show cues. Assist with all areas of technical staging including but not limited to lighting, audio, and rigging, and coordinates these activities in the absence of other lead technical staff. Assist with training and enforcement of safety practices and secure the facility when not in use.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of and experience in working with theatrical staging equipment, state-of-the art lighting and audio consoles, lighting fixtures and circuitry, audio systems and equipment especially digital components and technology. Experience as electrician, light board operator, audio engineer, video technician, or stage manager for live performances. Knowledgeable of technical theater protocol, chain-of-command, and stage equipment and practices. Experience reading and interpreting stage drawings including lineset schedules, light plots, blueprints, sketches, schematics, ground plans, and sections. Skill to assist in training of student employees in theatrical safety practices. Experience with informational technology, Microsoft Office suite or equivalent, and software programs common in technical theater applications. Positive attitude and effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral. Must have the ability to work cooperatively or independently as the need arises. Ability to respond quickly to unrehearsed situations in live performances.
Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
Experience working cooperatively with faculty, staff, and students regarding technical requirements of staging performances. Experience leading technical theater student employees from diverse cultural backgrounds, perspectives, and levels of theatrical experience. Experience working with power tools, hand tools, and pneumatic equipment. Experience utilizing and working with programs such as CAD, Vectorworks and other. Experience in providing exceptional customer service and client relations Knowledge of OSHA theatrical safety regulations
Pay/Salary: Minimum rate of pay $20.12
