The Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards supports the University’s dedication to student success and its educational purposes and goals by publishing, enforcing, drafting and interpreting standards of student behavior and related policies and procedures; facilitates student and community developmental and ethical growth opportunities promoting personal integrity, civility, self-responsibility, citizenship and appreciation for diversity; works to maintain a safe and productive environment supporting the University’s educational purpose and the students’ educational goals; and promotes the privileges and responsibilities associated with a student’s affiliation with the University.
The incumbent will create and manage student conduct files in the UMBC student conduct records database, oversee day-to-day operations of the main office, train/supervise the Administrative Assistant II position, design and create statistical reports and take independent action based on interpretation of database output.
The incumbent will create and manage student conduct files in the UMBC student conduct records database (Advocate by Simplicity).
Specific duties include:
oversight of day-to-day operations of the front office
training/supervising the Administrative Assistant II position
designing/creating statistical reports
running periodic reports and taking independent action based on interpretation of database output
preparing draft reports and recommendations
preparing statistical tables and charts
collecting, compiling, organizing and interpreting data obtained from the conduct database
event planning and project management
advising the department head on workflow within the department
coordinating with allied efforts in other departments
handling sensitive and confidential information with tact and discretion.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of four years full-time experience in administrative staff work is required.
Experience must have included the production of documents using word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation programs, internet, email, and calendaring software.
Must have excellent customer service, organizational, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work independently and ability to prioritize and execute multiple and continuing assignments.
Must be able to present a calm and professional demeanor and have the ability to defuse situations with tact and diplomacy.
Preferred Qualifications include:
previous experience in a higher education/student conduct program setting and knowledge of disciplinary process
experience using and maintaining PeopleSoft
experience with a student conduct database
experience with case management

Pay Range 12 (starting at $45,432) based on the University System of Maryland Pay Program
