We are looking for a new member to join our Operations Team in the role of Contract Manager. This position is central to the success of our projects, and interacts with every member of the firm. The Contract Manager ensures we describe and deliver our design services in accordance with company policies and legal requirements. In this position, you will prepare, review, and administer architectural design service contracts. Using AIA contract templates, you will work with the studio project managers and principals to negotiate and write client and consultant contracts. A big part of the job is explaining service terms to clients and consultants and answering questions about the contracts from both exterior and internal parties. The Contract Manager oversees the entire contract process:
Securing the necessary approvals
Ensuring that the standard contract terms are followed
Ensuring that contract milestones/goals are met
Overseeing contract documentation organization
You will also participate in the review and resolution of client and consultant issues, and recommend modifications to the services or terms. The Contract Manager oversees the firm’s project management software, project documents, state and local agency regulation compliance, staff training, and project status tracking. This position is ideal for the individual interested in working with senior management and outside legal counsel to set and maintain the parameters for the firm’s service offerings.
The right person for this job has the following required credentials:
3+ Years experience in a professional services environment
Impeccable writing skills
Excellent speaking and presentation skills
Complete knowledge and use of office suite – word processor, spreadsheets
Ability to quickly learn complex, industry specific software
A good sense of humor
A desire to work in a highly collaborative, artistic, and fast-paced environment
A kind, friendly, and supportive character
Any of the following experience or skills is a plus:
Knowledge of AIA Contract Documents software
Experience in the A/E/C industry
Knowledge of Newforma, and other A/E integrated project management software
Knowledge of legal terminology or contract law
Although we would prefer a candidate who can join our team in Syracuse, this position could also be filled by a remote worker.
