The Department of Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) assists Vanderbilt University in securing the resources, both human and financial, that are required to achieve its mission and goals. The Department is responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of individuals and organizations whose charitable objectives are consistent with those of Vanderbilt University's teaching and research programs Duties and Responsibilities - Stewardship reporting
- Assist the Office of Stewardship with annual stewardship reporting of endowed and non-endowed funds, including impact reporting, fall financials and other newly established stewardship projects.
- Work as part of stewardship team to ensure timely and accurate reporting of endowed and non-endowed funds and research of such funds.
- Partner with reporting project managers to assist with activities such as proofing and editing, compilation of mailings and data entry.
- Provide regular reports to Senior Director regarding progress of stewardship reporting.
- Research and miscellaneous project support
- Support ad hoc stewardship requests, research and compile endowed fund information for special projects or requests from DAR colleagues, including department leadership.
- Support planned giving stewardship by proofing various documents and assisting with mailings.
- Serve as a gift agreement reviewer and assist with drafting of gift agreements as needed.
- Assist with various stewardship activities, including data entry, spreadsheet maintenance and occasional event assistance.
- Proofread and edit stewardship acknowledgment letters.
- Work collaboratively with the Stewardship team to ensure project deadlines are met and executed with accuracy, quality and integrity. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Continuously compile, review and analyze project outcomes against established goals, objectives and timelines.
- Recommend process improvement for program and services.
- Use appropriate resources to effectively and efficiently resolve problems.
- Actively maintain and update information and databases to ensure accurate and ongoing records for key constituencies and donor populations.
- Carry out research to ensure that donor intent is being realized and records are complete.
- Proofread and edit stewardship letters and additional stewardship reports.
- Uphold departmental and institutional policies regarding confidential information with particular care in handling sensitive donor and student information.
- Provide Senior Director with bi-weekly reporting of activities and performance towards goals and objectives.
- Work cooperatively with Development and Alumni Relations colleagues and maintain strong and effective working relationships with other university offices.
- Travel as required.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Periodic evening and weekend work may be required.
