Assistant Director, Transportation and Contract Services - (21001206) Description Auxiliary Services is comprised of a diverse group of revenue-generating auxiliary enterprises that directly support student life, the Tufts community and the academic mission of the University. Auxiliary Services includes; conference & event services, the Joyce Cummings Center conference facility, catering and cafe, summer housing, university campus store, vending, parking and transportation services, student access services, and other revenue-generating enterprises. Program growth and development, while optimizing revenue and operating margin contributions, are be priorities for the Department. The Assistant Director reports directly to the Senior director and is responsible for the leadership, management and operations of parking, transportation (shuttles, fleet, etc.), student access and other university services including residential laundry, vending, and art store. The position requires on-call availability, reporting for duty during nonwork hours in cases of emergency or in support of university sponsored events, including weekends, holidays, university closings, or states of emergency. Qualifications Basic Requirements: - Knowledge and experience as typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
- A minimum of 7 plus years of related experience.
- Successful background in transportation/fleet/parking/management with knowledge of marketing, communications and business planning.
- Excellent customer service, problem solving, communications, organizational and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines.
- Excellent technical skills, including experience with database management and advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suit of productivity tools, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
- Advanced project management skills, including use of collaborative software to administer and manage large scale projects. Advanced critical thinking and reasoning skills.
- Adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning.
- Strong critical judgment and reasoning.
- A commitment to participatory leadership and management, teamwork and diversity.
- Position requirement includes working some nights and weekends in response to emergencies or in support of major university events.

Preferred Qualifications: - Knowledge of regional and local transit systems in Massachusetts.
- Knowledge of and experience with transportation demand management.
