About the Department
The Office of Marketing and Communications houses brand management, communications and creative teams that develop and execute marketing strategies across an array of marketing communications channels - including print, direct marketing, websites, email, blogs, social media, mobile, events and video - to reach the school’s primary external audiences (prospective students, alumni, donors and prospective donors, corporate partners, and the media) and internal audiences (faculty, staff, students and the wider University community).
The web designer will design and develop strategic communications (web, digital media) that connect and engage with Michigan Ross’ internal and external audiences. The designer’s responsibilities will include making informed decisions by leveraging best practices and feedback to develop intelligent, successful communication solutions. The designer will create and present original concepts and designs that demonstrate a clear, innovative understanding of complex marketing goals, recognizing both organizational objectives and the needs of the end user. This position reports to the Creative Director of the Marketing and Communications department.
Create enhancements and modifications to the Ross School of Business website.
Design effective online marketing campaigns, including web pages, mobile, and digital advertising.
Conceptualize, design, build webpages and digital assets. Work with the brand management team and partners/clients to understand overall and specific objectives.
Contribute to the Ross School of Business brand, including identity and voice.
Work closely with all members of the marketing organization (creative and editorial directors, other designers, writers, social media, PR, etc.) to ensure an integrated marketing communications to achieve the specified objectives.
Work with project managers to ensure quality, including development of online specifications; inspect & proof for accuracy.
Design digital materials to adhere with brand guidelines.

Organize, categorize and archive web assets

Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
2-4 years of experience
Extensive experience in design and layout
Demonstrable proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and Illustrator
Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS), and Front-end development
Strong HTML, CSS, and photo editing skills
Working knowledge of personas, scenarios, wireframes, paper prototypes, high fidelity prototypes, and mockups.
Demonstrated experience managing projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with daily deadlines.
Working knowledge of Drupal a plus.
Skills may be required.

May be required occasionally to work from home, providing a dedicated location for work to be done
Requires the ability to travel to various locations to conduct work and deliver materials
