Position Summary Organizational Objective: Provide student centered teaching and learning which is accessible, friendly, and working towards the successful development of each welding student. Oversee appropriate welding machine maintenance (preventive and repair) and provide training and instruction for Current welding faculty and students. Coordinate repairs, installations, trainings, and deliveries from outside vendors. Provide industry personnel tours/answering questions for potential students. Providing students with proper techniques in the use of and proper handling of welding machines. Functional Responsibilities: Purpose of Position: Support and assist the Welding Department and faculty in providing a quality teaching learning environment by producing welding blanks for classes, maintaining welding equipment and setting up labs.
Ability to operate welding equipment and oxy-fuel torch system.
Ability to utilize computerized systems, including familiarity with spreadsheet and word processing software.
Ability to operate measurement and inspection equipment such as digital and analog volt/amp/ohm multi-meters.
Knowledge of Safety (OSHA, etc.)
Knowledge of inventory control.
