What you’ll be doing...
The position is a project technical role in the Global Network & Unified Communications (GNUC) organization. GNUC organization is responsible for Verizon’s internal network and unified communications platforms across the enterprise. You will manage the technical project teams responsible for successful planning and delivery of strategic projects throughout the Verizon internal enterprise. Includes being the Senior POC and Technical Lead representing GNUC for all transition and acquisition/merger activities and working closely with the Verizon Corporate Integration Management Office. You will work closely with technical teams of employees and contractors responsible for managing the “Plan, Build, Run” phases for complex strategic initiatives to make sure business/customer satisfaction is met, and global network compliance standards are adhered to.
Designs project solutions that are in alignment with Verizon directional standards for the assigned projects.
Partners with Network Engineers, Software Engineers, and cross-functional teams to architect large technical internal network projects, leading cross-functional collaboration between internal teams and external vendors.
Ensures all work maintains consistent quality and includes all necessary Global Network & Unified Communications organization.
Manages and drives the delivery of complex integration projects; leveraging automation and software programs, coordinating with delivery teams, and facilitating the delivery of efficient network services.
Ensures network performance is achieved throughout the lifecycle of every assigned project effort.
Coordinates of multi-tiered, cross functional-departmental staff to keep work streams flowing toward the common goal of the initiative.
Utilizes of standardized tools keeps all teams in sync and on target.
Works with management to design and launch new agile processes, institute process improvements, and ensure the efficient/reliable achievement of process objectives.
Abstract, organize, and structure process objectives, and workflows.
Develops reports to track scope, schedule, budget, issues, risks, and overall status.
Coordinates with stakeholders to manage, track, and control project issues to ensure timely delivery.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Even better if you have:
Master’s degree in Business Administration.
Six or more years of experience with IT network and Unified Communications environments.
Six or more years of Project Management experience deploying and delivering complex solutions.
Six or more years of experience with Cisco VoIP / Telecommunication/IT Outsourcing.
Three or more years of experience working with Agile practices.
Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP).
ITIL Foundations v3, Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
ITIL Advanced/Intermediate Certification.
VZ Scrum Master Certified.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to work and interact with multiple levels of management.
Ability to manage multiple critical initiatives at once.
Strong Oral, Written, and Presentation Skills.
A proven track record of handling extremely confidential information appropriately.
Experience with Confluence, Smart Sheets, Clarity and Rally.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to foster relationships and present to C-Levels within the Client Organization.
Ability to have completed multiple, complex technical projects.
Financial Business acumen.
Knowledge with Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) and network elements.
Ability to manage and negotiate with vendors for installation services.
