The Studio Technologies Library Specialist, in partnership with colleagues throughout the Libraries and across campus, provides and maintains the creative technologies that allow for experiential learning opportunities through ideation, experimentation, and creation in Libraries studio spaces. Additionally, they maintain elements of the Libraries' technology lending program.
Manage and development of creative studio spaces including, but not limited to, those focused on robotics, drones, electronics, and artificial intelligence. Assist with the management of spaces, technologies, and equipment used in media art and design studios. Assist with the hiring, supervision, and training of a talented pool of students who will provide peer to peer assistance within the creative studio spaces. Assist with the equipment, policies, and procedures of the Tech Lending Program including managing students who specialize in these processes. Collaborate with colleagues throughout the Libraries and across campus to promote, grow, schedule, and support the use of creative digital technologies and studio spaces. Performs other duties assigned.
High School diploma. Two (2) years related experience or the equivalent experience. Computer literate and technologically adept. Proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel. Proficiency in Windows Operating System and file management.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Experience managing hiring processes. Experience with employee scheduling. Experience with staff onboarding. Public services or customer service experience in an academic library or related environment. Supervisory experience. AI/Machine Learning experience such as TensorFlow and SciKit-Learn or similar libraries. Experience repairing various types of computer hardware and equipment.
