Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.
We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Non Traded Market Risk Manager.
Point of contact for providing independent oversight of the interest rate risk in the banking book
Monitor market risk activities, communicate key risks and critical matters to the Senior Management
Undertake deep dive reviews of the areas concerning IRRBB including key risk metrics, Funds Transfer Pricing, capital, Deposit modelling
Collaborate with key stakeholders to implement adequate risk management coverage, visibility and controls surrounding Markets Treasury risk and IRRBB risk
Influence and implement risk management policies ensuring that they are globally consistent and take into account the regional/local idiosyncrasies
Assist with the implementation of the second line of defense, industry and regulatory initiatives for the IRRBB risk in the region
Champion improvements in the MI and systems infrastructure involved in managing risks
Review new products and processes to identify all material market risks and ensure effective controls are implemented around these to ensure appropriate risk management occurs during the product's life cycle
Establish strong partnership with the stakeholders and at the same time able to challenge them when required
Market risk, IRRBB risk, ALM or trading experience with strong technical knowledge of balance sheet management, treasury products and global markets
Excellent commercial acumen and abilities to partner with the business and other stakeholders
Strong problem solving, decision making, communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and under pressure
Quantitative or professional degree. Programming skills (Python, VBA, SQL) are highly desired
