About the Department The Credit and Risk Management function is comprised of three teams: Risk Management, Credit and Special Asset Management. We manage the risks arising from the Group's business activities within the risk appetite established by the Board. This involves identifying and evaluating the risks, developing effective risk governance and strategies as well as providing independent assessment of the overall risk profile.
Job Responsibilities Reporting to the Head, Group Credit (Retail), with matrix reporting line to the MD, TMRW Digital Group, the role will work closely with senior leaders across the organisation to design, develop and implement next-gen credit capabilities in order to drive UOB digital bank/TMRW's objectives. Develop, design and implement next-gen credit capabilities
Overall lead for delivery of the Retail Credit transformation programme for prioritized markets by TMRW, including digital credit underwriting, sourcing of alternative data for verification & credit assessment, machine-learning scorecards and STP process implementation.
Lead the Retail Credit teams to develop execute and embrace transformation initiatives in order to deliver to the objectives of the TMRW Digital Group.
Propose credit tests to explore new segments for credit underwriting with controlled risk exposure
Work with Avatec.ai to source and negotiate alternative data from TMRW strategic partners, private credit bureau, telco, e-commerce platforms and other data sources as inputs to build digital credit assessment, verification capability capabilities.
Work with Avatec.ai and Credit team to develop and deploy machine-learning scorecards and other analytic tools to optimize credit approval while balancing risk management.
Apply machine-learning algorithms to develop and deploy scorecards and other advanced analytic tools to enhance prospect targeting, click conversion, credit underwriting and credit management.
Monitor, report and timely re-calibrate of credit strategies to optimize credit decisions
Develop and implement tools to monitor and manage TMRW credit portfolio quality including delinquency level, NCL and NPL. Monitor key performance indicators including credit penetration rate, credit approval rate, fraud rate, delinquency rate, NPL and NCL rates on regular basis
Report progress, including proposals for any required actions, to the Group Credit and the TMRW Digital Group Senior Leadership Teams on periodic basis. Support the Avatec.ai team to develop, execute and achieve business plans to Avatec.ai's mission and objectives.
Serve as liaison between Avatec.ai and UOB to ensure full compliance of subsidiary governance requirements
Provide direct support to Avatec.ai and connect to UOB stakeholders across the organization e.g. RAD, GTO, GLS, Risk, Audit etc. Share and communicate requirements from control functions to Avatec.ai. and facilitate necessary approval/endorsement from relevant UOB control functions
Prepare regular updates to MEC, Investment Committee etc. on progress of investments in Avatec.ai and PINTEC
Coordinate with both internal and external stakeholders on JV-related matters e.g., MAS updates, internal and external audit, etc.
Monitor market development and recommend new opportunities
Monitor latest market development in credit underwriting capabilities, credit product development, policy and performance in the market and recommend potential credit strategy, product, collaboration or partnership opportunities to TMRW team.
Proactively seek opportunities for establishing, building and maintaining successful relationships with partners, stakeholders and vendors.
At least 10 years of experience working preferably in a large consumer platform/ecosystem with financial services offering, or a bank.
Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or other quantitative related field.
Knowledge in consumer credit risk management and sound market and industry insight of the ecosystem.
Good understanding of the key drivers of consumer loan/credit card financials and the underlying consumer behaviors that drive those financials.
Good analytics background with readiness in developing new product and solution
Strong interpersonal, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
Possess a strong analytical and problem solving skills
Good time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and workloa ds effectively.
