Working/Functional Title Ast Inst/Inst/Ast Professor Position Summary The School of Journalism at Michigan State University is seeking outstanding candidates for anticipated fixed-term (non-tenure stream) faculty positions in documentary filmmaking. These are part-time positions for campus classroom and/or online instruction. Responsibilities will include teaching a course or courses in: Beginning filmmaking, advanced filmmaking, producing, post-production skills and/or editing that students can apply to careers in digital storytelling. Position’s rank will be at the level of Assistant Instructor, Instructor, or Assistant Professor. Degree requirements differ depending on rank. Bachelor’s degree is required for Assistant Instructor rank, Master’s degree is required for Instructor rank, and PhD is required for Assistant Professor rank. Appointment will be for one semester beginning Fall 2021. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
