THIS IS NOT AN H1- B OPPORTUNITY Responsibilities Under the direction of the Director of Community Hospital Partnerships and Affiliations, the Outreach Data Specialist will collaborate with external and internal constituents in accordance with the professional standards of the discipline, applicable regulatory requirements and business objectives of the organization to further enhance the outreach affiliations and future affiliated programs with community providers. This position will be responsible for applying theory and put this into practice with in-depth understanding within professional field. This individual will be responsible for analyzing such complex business problems using data to provide insight to decision makers. This may include but not limited to independently performing comprehensive analysis, reporting and overall data across the institution. Such data can vary and can span across financial, clinical, and quality data. Leveraging knowledge of business data and market impacts, will work with appropriate units to understand and prioritize data and information requirements. Reports as needed will be created based on specifications and incumbent will participate to optimize the performance of enterprise tools that add value to the organization. This position will manage data collection, validation, analysis, modeling, and coordination of reporting of data for internal and external use. Will create and distribute data reports specific to monitored indicators. Serve as a liaison for developing performance improvement quality and safety projects ensuring the appropriate methodology design and deployment. Coach staff and managers on the use of analytical tools to understand collection of data. Coach staff and managers on the interpretation of data dashboards to understand collected and reported data. Apply program management techniques to ensure the on-time, high-quality delivery of all projects. Manage projects and ensure their compliance with department and regulatory requirements. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or advanced degree in Business or Health-related field strongly preferred.
- BA/BS and 3-5 years of experience and/or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
- Project management experience in organizing work effectively and to meet given budgets and timeframes.
- Established and maintained effective working relationships across and beyond the enterprise (Medical Center, Campus, other UC sites, and greater Sacramento Area community) and develop multidisciplinary collaborations in a matrix organization.
- Extensive knowledge of business intelligence functions, analytics, industry standards, and best practices.
- Extensive knowledge of relevant internal databases, applications and tools.
- Experience producing high-quality reports and documentation.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage complex information, assess problems, and develop effective solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with a broad range of professional and technical staff.
- Excellent customer service skills to understand and articulate diverse clients' needs and objectives; manage expectations and deliver as promised and on time.
- Served as a technical resource providing advice and counsel on business intelligence issues.
- Experience providing complex data to executive level constituents.
- Experience with a broad spectrum of complex analytical duties that lead to new and/or not yet tested recommendations.
- Experience that impacts broad organizational unit and/or Medical Center settings.
- Extensive knowledge of principles, practices, and concepts within a professional field. Considered to be subject matter expert in one or more specific areas of work.
- Experience in service line program management with ability to manage several projects and processes simultaneously.
- Experience determining and locating unique or specialized sources for collecting information which require thorough and in-depth understanding of the quantitative and qualitative aspects of the analysis.
- Experience performing complex analysis involving multiple variables across a broad spectrum. Develops problem-solving methodologies or strategies and evaluates criteria.
- Experience conducting complex data analysis projects as well as measuring and monitoring the consistency and accuracy of data produced through statistical analysis.
- Experience organizing, synthesizing, and analyzing large amounts of information both financial and quality.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing analytic product that consistently meets the highest standards of accuracy.
- Proven team and project management skills. Ability to achieve targets and goals.
- Demonstrate consistent level of high performance and ability to influence change.

- Proficient in MS Office and applicable statistical software applications. .
- Knowledge of relational databases, database structure and design, data management and data warehousing.

- Lean and Six Sigma training or similar methodologies experience preferred.
- Experience and ability to perform mathematical calculations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum two years (2) experience working in a health care organization.
- Advanced degree(s), such as MBA, MHA or similar.
- Experience in a large academic healthcare setting.
- Experience in strategic planning, business development, market research, and financial analyses.
- Healthcare consulting experience.
Special Requirements Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends as needed. This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
