This position reports to the Assistant Director for New Student Transitions and First Year Experience. The Coordinator has the following duties and responsibilities, but not limited to: Oversight for the recruitment, selection, training, and supervision of the Spartan Orientation Staff; and SOAR and RWW programming.
Master’s degree from a four-year university or college in the area of higher education administration, college student personnel, student development, or a related field or Bachelor’s degree from a four-year university or college with two years of relevant experience.
Ability to develop and implement presentations and workshops to diverse audiences.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of a team.
Basic knowledge of technologies, including word processing, excel, e-mail, PowerPoint, and social media.
Be available and willing to work irregular office hours during certain times of the year.
Experience in developing and implementing programs in support of student transition, success, and retention.
Experience developing and supporting diverse student leaders and the ability to plan, implement, and evaluate training for student staff.
Experience supervising and/or advising undergraduate or graduate students.
Experience in large-scale programming planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Experience with digital and print communications as well as social media strategies.
