Reporting to the Headmaster and Director of Development, the Database Administrator serves as the central point of contact for the Veracross-Axiom database system and other related technologies to facilitate the efficiency and effectiveness in the collection, organization, analysis, and sharing of critical information. The Database Administrator is responsible for the following tasks:
Lead initiative to streamline workflows through Veracross database system
Take Inventory of current data collection and management practices across the organization.
Standardize workflows for each department to prevent accumulation of data integrity issues.
Identify and rectify existing data integrity issues, and work with senior administrative team to assign necessary duties and responsibilities with respect to data collection, management, and sharing to existing staff members across departments to fill gaps in existing organizational workflow.
Establish best practices and standardized workflows for each department to prevent accumulation of additional data integrity issues and ensure clean data.
Execute regular responsibilities of School Project Manager (SPM) for Veracross
Maintain relationship with Veracross customer support team.
Share relevant product updates with departments on campus.
Lead implementation of new Veracross features to ensure organizational success with the suite of Veracross products and services.
Lead implementation of third-party integrations to ensure administrative workflows adhere to system requirements (RUVNA, G-Suite, etc.).
Ensure calendar APIs effectively share information between Axiom, Veracross, Finalsite, and Google Calendar with appropriate constituents (faculty/staff, students, parents, and alumni).
Manage security permissions and portal access for user accounts for all constituents (students, parents, faculty/staff, alumni, donors, friends).
Collect information for non-academic school programs from designated departments (athletics, development, college counseling, buildings & grounds, campus management and Human Resources) and import to Veracross database.
Oversee training and serve as primary internal help desk support and for all database users
Create Georgetown Prep specific documentation for reference and training protocols.
Train staff/core users across departments to adhere to new data collection and data management practices.
Provide orientation training and assistance for new employees to facilitate their use of the database.
Provide help-desk assistance for all database users.
Other responsibilities as directed by Headmaster and Director of Development
At least five years of experience in database administration
Expertise with Microsoft Excel
Ability to code in SQL
Knowledge of CRM technology infrastructure
Excellent communication skills
Bachelor’s degree in related field
Veracross School Project manager experience
Masters certificate in related field
Ability to also code in HTML
