Hiring Salary Range: $103,973 - $129,965 Full Salary Range: $103,973 - $168,955

What You Will Do: This position will design, align, implement, communicate, and monitor the organization’s compensation philosophy and total rewards strategy and programs.. The Compensation Manager will provide leadership and coordination of UCAR compensation and data analytics functions. This position will manage the compensation team. Responsibilities: The position works closely with the CHRO to ensure that compensation programs align with the organizational strategic goals, total reward strategy and vision. -
Communicate the compensation strategies and plans to organizational leadership and develop compensation-related communication, training content and deliver training. -
Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, practices, guidelines and procedures recommending plan revision as well as new plans which are cost effective and consistent with compensation trends and organizational objectives; coordinate implementation and provide guidance to leadership. -
Develop and implement continual process improvement strategies for all compensation processes. -
Partner with Talent Acquisition, Finance, and leaders across the organization to create compensation programs/compensation package that support attracting and retaining the best diverse talent -
Manage the administration of total direct compensation, including the processing, recording and reporting of compensation-related actions. -
Collaborate with leadership regarding compensation solutions, insights, evaluating new positions, job design, offers, promotions and transfers. -
Lead the annual merit review process while preparing leaders for planning. Provide competitive economic and market data, quantitative and qualitative analysis and make recommendations to senior leaders. -
Provide guidance and collaborate with HR Strategic Partners in the planning, development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs that support the long term growth that drives the organization’s strategy. -
Oversees market data analysis, benchmarking, job matching, data analytics, compensation practices and makes recommendations. -
Keep apprised of federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations in order to ensure organizational compliance. -
Support organizational compensation practices to external funding agencies. -
Provide ad-hoc analysis and manage special projects (e.g. compensation strategy, retention, job leveling) Lead the development of HR data analytics to meet organizational needs -
Design, build, and implement data models, reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards and performance metrics that support key business decisions -
Conduct robust and meaningful analysis for management to use in making decisions related to compensation programs -
Provide analysis of data and makes recommendations, as appropriate -
Lead organization wide compliance reporting requirements from the EEOC and OFCCP development and communication of results. Other duties, as needed. What You Need: Education and Years of Experience -
Bachelor's Degree required, advanced degree preferred -
Seven (7)+ years progressive experience in compensation -
At least 3 years of experience leading a function or team -
Experience with strategic compensation programs to attract, develop and engage the workforce -
Knowledge in government regulations as they apply to compensation base and incentive compensation programs Special Requirements: Mathematical aptitude, analysis skills and ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities -
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to articulate complex information, including presenting complex topics in easily understood terms to leadership -
