Primary Purpose: Coordinate and manage all new construction and renovation projects in the district. Ensure compliance with all planning and zoning requirements.
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Facility Construction and Repair
Coordinate and oversee construction projects for the district.
Manage multiple construction projects concurrently and represent the district’s interest on construction projects.
Serve as liaison to architects, engineers, and consultants to develop, review, and finalize project plans, drawings, schematics, and specifications.
Consult with city, county, state, and federal officials to ensure conformity with codes and ordinances regulating district construction projects.
Participate in the prequalification, contract specifications and/or approval process for architects, engineers, and contractors.
Conduct on-site inspection of construction projects to ensure conformance with construction documents, programs, and needs.
Consult with faculty, administrative staff, and community concerning program preparation and design needs.
Establish and recommend priorities for repair projects.
Develop and maintain construction progress schedules.
Coordinate and conduct project development and construction progress meetings.
Expedite documentation and completion of punch-list items.
Coordinate transition of building operation from general contractor to district upon acceptance of a facility.
Supervise warranty correction work.
Qualifications
Education/Certification
High school diploma or GED
Experience
Five years construction project management, architectural, or engineering experience
