Sales Specialist Position Summary The Sales Specialist is responsible for developing and nurturing revenue-generating relationships with clients and industry partners by using high levels of activity at job sites, offices, trade associations and educational events through the use of consultative business development skills and technical expertise to guide clients, architects, designers, and builders to technology solutions that perfectly match their needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Research and make product recommendations to the client based on functionality.
- Persuasively present proposals to clients and trade partners through the use strong communication and written skills.
- Produce documents to assist the Design & Engineering (D&E) team with developing the custom quotation. Such documents may include but not be limited to plans, drawings and intake information.
- Coordinate with D&E to develop solutions based on client intake information, site assessments, and client wants & desires based upon their lifestyle and budget.
- Ensure quotations produced by D&E contain systems and products that meet all client expectations & needs, contain the desired functionality intended, and meet or exceed company expectations on profitability while staying within client budgetary needs.
- Adhere to company standards on product/labor mix, margin, and revenue per technician.
- Adhere to company standards on product labor attachments and revenue assessment for off-site labor hours (ie. Programming time, travel time, etc.).
- Attend post-install meetings with Project Managers to obtain feedback on design & quotation improvements.
- Update project documentation in job management software.
- Create new and innovative ways to obtain desired results while adhering to budget and product constraints.
- Fiscal responsibility for all assets assigned and property within Sales Specialist’s care.
- Provide exceptional customer service to high-profile and highly demanding customers.
- Guardianship and preservation of client confidentiality and network/home security.
- Adherence to state and federal laws, including adherence to traffic laws.
- Work independently but also work well as part of a Team.
- Local travel to sites for client meetings, site surveys, training, testing or quality control as appropriate.
Qualifications - Experienced hunter with the initiative and motivation to seek out, create and manage new client relationships.
- Well organized and detail oriented through the previous use of CRM systems.
- Knowledge of the construction and design/build industry, including contract structures (time and materials, fixed fee, cost plus, etc.), trade coordination, and project management.
- Possess an understanding of all AV systems including audio, video, security, lighting and integration of all installed brands.
- Ability to read and comprehend documentation such as house plans, lighting diagrams etc.
- Ability to communicate with the D&E team and project managers is paramount.
- High-energy, self-motivated individual with the ability to quickly grasp new concepts in an extremely fast-paced environment.
- Technical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to meet customer demands outside of normal working hours.
- May require standing or sitting for extended periods.
- Must pursue continuing education on systems including audio, video, security, lighting.
Education - College degree
- Some technical training, construction experience, or advanced education preferred
