THIS IS NOT AN H1- B OPPORTUNITY Responsibilities Quality Control Data Analyst (Audit and Training Coordinator) acts under general guidance of Lead QC Analyst or IT Manager and is responsible for analysis, integration, support, and coordination for audits as well as education and training as it relates to compliance of California Cancer Coding Standards as performed by regional cancer registry staff. Duties include assuring continuity, integrity, completeness, timeliness, and accuracy of data reporting specific to monitored quality indicators. As the central registry Auditor, incumbent implements the annual work plan for regional and central registry audits. Under the direction of the Lead QC Analyst, incumbent develops audit design and methodology to analyze and ensure integrity of the statewide database. Per Lead QC Analyst's direction, position coordinates recoding audit efforts at the Central Registry. Incumbent collaborates with regional staff to coordinate statewide auditing efforts. Acts as liaison for audits performed at the central registry level by funding agencies such as NAACCR, NPCR and/or SEER. Performs in depth analysis of audit results to determine corrective measures. Develops comprehensive reports analyzing and summarizing audit information collected from regional registries within the State of California. . Evaluates education and training materials developed by regional registries to determine consistency across all regions. Analyzes regional educational materials and present detailed recommendations and conclusions to management. This position develops and maintains a collaborative approach to problem identification and resolution. Project management skills are utilized to track, report, and follow-up on identified education recommendations and issues.
Business knowledge of disease registry business processes.
Knowledge, skills, and experience as a data analyst of large and complex projects.
Ability and knowledge to troubleshoot complex data analysis problems to resolution in a timely manner.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Understanding of large databases or data warehouses and understanding of the data relationships with these.
Knowledge of spreadsheet and database programs and understanding of relational database and data integrity.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to be detail oriented, methodical, meticulous, process-oriented while open to change and motivated by innovation.
Ability to perform well under the stress and pressure of tight development schedules, and support of an online system.
Ability to work within and across teams effectively with collaboration skills.
Certification as a Tumor Registrar.
Knowledge of cancer disease registry business processes.
General knowledge of disease registry data standards; NAACCR and California Cancer Reporting Standards Volumes I-IV.
