The Keck School of Medicine of USC Department of Physiology and Neuroscience is seeking to hire an Assistant Professor of Research to join itâs team.
Plans, designs and conducts highly technical and complex research projects independently and in consultation with supervisor. Analyzes research data and provides interpretations. Contributes to the development of research documentation for publication and/or prepares technical reports, papers and/or records.
27%Â Â Â Â Plans, designs and conducts highly technical and complex research projects independently and in consultation with supervisor.
20%Â Â Â Â Identifies, researches, compiles and evaluates data sources, background information and/or technology related to area of specialization.
20%Â Â Â Â Analyzes and evaluates research data utilizing computers and provides interpretations requiring significant knowledge of a specialized area of research. Searches literature, utilizing all available resources including electronic, regarding new methodology and designs experiments accordingly.
10%Â Â Â Â Contributes to the development of research documentation for publication and/or prepares technical reports, papers and/or records.
20%Â Â Â Â Operates and maintains sophisticated laboratory/scientific equipment. This includes shared electron microscopy and pulsed EPR equipment.
3% Â Â Â Â Â Contributes to teaching of students in the laboratory setting as well as in the classroom.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.
Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate and at least 5 years of post-doctoral experience.
5 years of post-doctoral work.
Minimum Field of Expertise:
Directly related education and experience in research specialization with advanced knowledge of equipment, procedures and analysis methods.
