The Instructional Technology Consultant (ITC) manages and supports the availability of teaching and learning technologies in Le Moyne's online, blended, mobile, and face-to-face learning environments. The ITC works in collaboration with constituent groups and other campus teams to maximize the configuration and use of technology-enhanced methods of teaching and learning. The ITC actively advances and promotes Le Moyne's mission, Catholic and Jesuit identity, Ignatian pedagogy, and commitment to both social justice and care for the whole person.
Provide direct support, training, documentation, and technical assistance to faculty, students, support services personnel, and staff in the use of instructional technologies
Administer instructional technologies and systems including learning management (Canvas), lecture capture (Kaltura), assessment (Watermark), course evaluation (EvaluationKit), and academic credentialing (Digital Measures) systems
Prepare and maintain course shells and templates including revisions to the course design, common information, links and content
Maintain currency in knowledge and trends related to teaching and learning, distance learning and instruction, and the application of technology
Prepare and maintain reports key performance indicators for all teaching and learning systems
Assist with course creation through all phases of the instructional design process including analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation, and revision
Administer Le Moyne's teaching and learning environments and associated technology, providing thoughtful stewardship of systems and processes that continuously advance academic excellence
Implement actions and tasks where instructional technology would enhance the learning experience, establish priorities, and develop strategies and plans to effect desired change
Actively represent and support the strategies and priorities of Le Moyne, its divisions, and the Department of Information Technology.
Perform other related duties and functions as required and assigned
Bachelor's Degree in instructional design, educational technology, education, curriculum and instruction, or related field, or equivalent appropriate academic preparation from a regionally accredited college.
1 to 3 years of relevant experience servicing faculty and students in an educational or training setting
Demonstrated experience with Canvas, Kaltura, Watermark (Taskstream) or equivalent teaching and learning tools
Experience managing small groups (1-3 people)
Experience managing small-scale projects (1-3 weeks in duration)
Intellectually curious with a passion for personal development, learning, and teaching
Superior commitment to servicing others with empathy, timeliness, accuracy, thoroughness, and professionalism
Comprehensive knowledge of educational/instructional technology, software, and multimedia development on desktop and mobile platforms, including: learning management systems, video editing, Google Apps, HTML and CSS, scripting languages, graphics editing software, web conferencing, and lecture capture
Demonstrated experience creating teaching materials and documentation to support and train individuals in the use and applications of learning technologies
Experience collaborating with instructors in the development and implementation of effective pedagogies for online, blended, mobile, and traditional learning environments
Creative and critical thinker with an open and collaborative style that engenders trust from the College community
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
Experience managing projects and leading small teams
Ability to provide strategic guidance and counsel to clientele in the assessment and development of existing and/or proposed processes and systems
Self-motivated and proactive; works effectively with limited oversight and direction; attentive to detail; organized; ably manages resources, constituencies, projects of varying size, and multiple and competing priorities and deadlines
Familiarity with the academic and administrative functions of a college.
