This role will also support the marketing strategy and analytics for OAD in partnership with the Annual Fund Programs (AFP) and the Digital Marketing Initiatives (DMI) teams. Remote work arrangements will be considered for this position.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Lead development of professional quality business intelligence, data visualization and analytics content in support of broader strategic priorities (e.g., omni-channel digital marketing campaigns and communications, engagement and fundraising KPIs) within OAD, primarily using Microsoft Power BI and data modeling via advanced PL/SQL.
Standardize and simplify I&A products and resources, including standard metrics and model outputs, to promote shared data understanding and ease comprehension across OAD.
Consult regularly with colleagues and end-users to identify and resolve gaps in organization's BI offerings and data accessibility. Disseminate use cases and best practices associated with I&A tools and resources to the University's Alumni Relations and Development community. Understand and prepare raw data, apply data models using statistical methods and algorithms, and then extract and communicate useful metrics/results in easily digestible formats.
Co-lead the design, enhancement, and maintenance of high-quality data architectures that align with business requirements and improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality. Partner with AFP and DMI to optimize marketing-related dataflows.
Utilize database query and scripting languages (such as PL/SQL) to create data extracts and establish datasets from OAD data sources for use in content delivered to end users.
Maintain proficiency in industry standard reporting and data delivery practices and software tools through self-guided learning, training, coursework, conference attendance, etc.

Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree is desirable. Five (5) to seven (7) years of related work experience is required, with a minimum of two (2) years of work related to business intelligence content development and data extraction. Demonstrated proficiency in one or more of the following business intelligence and data visualization platforms: Microsoft Power BI, SSRS, Tableau, Qlik. Demonstrated proficiency in SQL is required, preferably in an Oracle (PL/SQL) environment. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and other common computer applications required. This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. Strong customer service skills and an exemplary attitude are required. Must be willing to periodically travel to the office.
Additional familiarity with fundraising database applications, especially Advance, highly desirable.
Ability to conceptualize and develop proactive approaches to support organizational goals, including sophisticated constituent database queries, preferred.
Knowledge of common practices in the fields of alumni relations and development, including a familiarity with advanced predictive analytics related to donor engagement, cultivation, and retention, preferred.
Knowledge of integrated marketing and CRM disciplines including segmentation, targeting, direct marketing and customer care is highly desirable.
Excellent oral and interpersonal skills and strong project management and problem-solving skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a demanding environment.
Ability to work efficiently in a virtual environment with off-site colleagues.
