Position Summary: The Director of Sales and Marketing is responsible for driving business development, cultivating strategic partners, and achieving the revenue and profitability goals of the company by leading the sales, estimating and marketing teams to realize sales growth in existing and new markets. Direct reports include the territory sales managers, marketing manager, and estimating staff. Primary Responsibilities: - Organize, develop, and motivate a professional staff to position the company as an industry leader with a reputation for being reliable and trustworthy, distinguished for products of high quality and performance, delivering superior technical expertise, and serving long-standing and successful customer relationships.
- Create and execute strategic and tactical plans to achieve corporate objectives for increasing market share, product sales, profitability, and advance the public image of the company in all respects.
- Develop and manage the annual operating budgets and expense reporting for sales, marketing, and estimating.
- Oversee the development and execution of marketing, advertising and promotional programming, including but not limited to print and electronic media, social media, and other informational platforms and outlets.
- Develop strategies for product positioning and pricing to achieve substantial and long-term market share and realize the revenue objectives of the company.
- Analyze market data to understand current and evolving market conditions and adjust strategies to anticipate changing economic, social, environmental, and regulatory influences.
- Manage sales forecasting, and establish meaningful performance goals for the sales team.
- Collaborate with the Engineering team in the conduct of research and development of new and evolving products, achieve strategic product performance metrics, and project-specific testing as required.
- Collaborate with the Project Management team as an extension of the sales relationship to promote and enhance the customer experience through the life of a contract and warranty period.
- Cultivate, establish, and enhance relationships with strategic partners and players in our markets and industry.
- Represent the company at industry trade events and other such forums to promote the company and its products.
- Travel regularly to execute management responsibilities, and assist territory sales managers and independent sales representatives in cultivating and enhancing strategic relationships and increasing sales.
- Track the product development, pricing, sales and marketing tactics, and key personnel, of primary competitors.
- Support internal departments with the design and preparation of manuals, technical bulletins, reports, and other materials to assure and maintain consistent elements of style, design and corporate messaging.
- Report periodically to the executive staff and ownership.
