Colleges of the Fenway (COF) is seeking a part-time Senior Director, Programs and Communications.
COF’s mission is to add value to student academic and social life while seeking innovative methods of investing in new services and containing the costs of higher education. Serving as a leader within the COF team, this position provides strategic leadership and support to the collaboration among the five member institutions: Emmanuel Colleges, Massachusetts College of Art and Design, MCPHS University, Simmons University, and Wentworth Institute of Technology. Focusing on program development and delivery within Student Affairs and Admissions, this position is also responsible for communications and marketing strategy and implementation for COF.
Meeting Facilitation/Committee Oversight
Facilitate key committees/communities of practice and their programs including: Admissions, Marketing and Communications, Residential Life, Student Activities, Veteran’s Affairs. Work in support of committee goals and COF priorities, ensuring that these groups engage in projects that support the overall goals of COF and have mutual value to the participants and the member colleges.
Assist in facilitating senior leadership committees including: Coordinating Council, Senior Student Affairs Officers, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Enrollment Management.
Prepare reports, minutes and other written and verbal communications to the appropriate groups.
Maintain data for all committees and projects, updating core data on regular basis.
Program Development & Events
Working with Admissions, Student Activities and Residential Life groups to plan and execute collaborative events that support the priorities of the members.
Supervise the Director of Sport and Recreation, Co-Directors of Center for Performing Arts, and a student intern.
Marketing & Communications
Develop and produce internal and external marketing materials that identify and support the COF and its programs, including e-newsletters, brochures, the annual report, and overseeing the website.
Prepare presentations, documents, and share staffing responsibilities for Open Houses, Accepted Students Day(s), and Opening Weeks at the five institutions.
Special Projects & Collaboration
Work with appropriate staff at member institutions to coordinate joint sponsorships.
Work collaboratively with COF staff to facilitate joint contracts and services within the functional areas.
Perform other duties/projects as assigned.
Strong meeting facilitation, project management, organizational, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Ability to foster trust, be energetic and have a high tolerance for ambiguity and nuance.
Excellent attention to detail and a sense of humor.
Excellent diplomatic, analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
Ability to take initiative, work independently and with groups, and manage several projects simultaneously.
Willingness to work non-traditional hours, as required.
Familiarity with SharePoint, Constant Contact, and WordPress preferred.
Master’s degree in education, business management, planning or a related field.
7 - 10 years’ experience working with or in higher education academic, student affairs or communications administration or related experience.
Demonstrated project management, event planning, and communications experience, including use of social media to build awareness of brand and initiatives.
Familiarity with the administration of academic institutions.
