Summary Description: The Department of Biological Sciences at Columbia University in the City of New York is seeking applicants for a Program Manager and Associate Research Scientist. The candidate will assist the Stockwell Laboratory in its cutting-edge research projects and related operations. As part of these activities, the candidate will -Perform planning, development and operation of the NYC Columbia Therapeutic Calidation Center, bringing in cutting-edge multimodal mass spectrometry imaging technologies, preclinical therapeutic validation capabilities and key financial partnerships -Develop and cultivate collaborative relationships with stakeholders, including financial partners, faculties around New York City, investors, and key opinion leaders in the field -Lead preclinical drug and target validation projects, including developing project timelines, budgeting, and managing project hurdles and risks to ensure timely completion of projects -Manage a team of specialists for scientific projects -Prepare progress reports, manuscripts, grant applications and wide range of communications and outreach efforts -Manage laboratory logistics, including chemicals, equipment, animal colony and protocols, the reagent inventory, and other materials essential for the project, as well as human subject protocols, and monitoring general lab safety practices and regulatory compliance. -Perform research involving evaluating therapeutic candidates and targets in animal models of disease, and collect and analyze mass spectrometry imaging data |
