Project & Strategic Operations Executive - Salary Range: $70,000-$85,000 DOQ This position directs multiple campus- and system-wide mission-critical projects, such as enterprise software solutions and University strategic initiatives, to advance University goals and ASR’s mission to make a positive difference in students’ lives. This position requires a high level of professional and independent discretion to successfully negotiate and implement complex endeavors in order to meet the needs of the students, faculty and staff on all campuses. This position forms strategic partnerships with University leadership system-wide and associated offices to align strategy and further joint initiatives, utilizing stakeholder engagement and change management techniques. Project Management: (60%) - Responsible for directing highly complex/mission-critical, enterprise and large-scale projects to successful execution by employing project management knowledge and skills.
- Build project plan; analyze data and requirements to develop solutions.
- Ensure project scope and deliverables are technically feasible and garner their endorsement from project governance (representative of all 5 campuses, when applicable).
- Customize and manage work plans, schedules, resource forecasting and allocation, budgets, and develop reports that define and track project progress.
- Identify project risks and resolve competing deadlines, resources, and priorities.
- Oversee and lead high-performance project team(s) from recruitment to hiring, and retention.
- Partner with units providing additional staffing, without supervision of those staff, to hit deadlines.
- Mediate customer demand and promote customer service by all project participants.
- Maximize the project by acting upon risks and opportunities, making complex decisions, and leveraging conflicts to find creative solutions.
- Transition project to ongoing operations by formulating and integrating change management, communication, and training strategies that ensure effective roll-out and adoption.
- Lead the effort to explore a range of University and community options to creatively respond to new challenges.
- Exercise a high level of professionalism and independent discretion to challenge university policies and procedures, as well as create solutions to issues as they arise, and then implement those solutions.
- Develop and enhance tools and processes in response to identified needs consistent with University initiatives through campus and system-wide projects.
- Represent the University and ASR both internally and externally.
- Research policies and practices of other colleges and universities worldwide.
- Direct RFI and RFP creation including assessment of software or other tools.
- Execute contract negotiation and solution implementation with external vendors on various enterprise student systems.
Stakeholder engagement & change management: (25%) - Form vital partnerships and fortify two-way communications with stakeholders, including University central administration and system campus leadership, as well as external stakeholders on behalf of the AVP on various initiatives and requests.
- Consult with and advocate for students and staff to resolve difficult situations and implement best practices pertaining to communication and relationship management.
- Construct integrated change management strategies to support projects and initiatives.
Strategic Planning & Operations (15%) - Proactively and independently problem-solve including recommending changes to technologies, processes, resources, and people that may require creativity and new approaches.
