This person will engineer professional audio/visual systems with a focus on digital signage infrastructure, led display systems and meeting room solutions to fulfill the needs of our clients.
Primary Responsibilities:
Serving as a technical resource for sales staff.
Pre-sales: assist with detailing project scope, bills of material, and proposal documentation for more complicated design-build projects.
Communicating with client technical resources in order to understand and develop end solution.
Evaluation of client drawings (Auto Cad) in order to assess architectural layout, electrical and power in order to design in AV endpoints.
Field surveys for needs assessment pertaining to environmental, structural, power and data requirements.
Communicating Infrastructure and architectural requirements to project team
Development of AV Architectural Drawings, System Flows, Cable/Conduit Risers, Product Detail pages
During the project lifetime, oversee the preparation of the necessary design drawings and coordination documentation for installations.
Develop custom product solutions.
Mentor junior engineers. Supervise drafts-people in collaborative project efforts.
Act as a technical resource for associate engineers, technicians and drafting staff.
Develop knowledge and personal abilities/skills in order to maintain/improve depth and currency with this field of work.
Implement projects in accordance with the scope of work and create/document project change orders as requirements.

AV Networking + Topology
Large flat screen displays
Speakers
Audio DSPs
Matrix mixers/switchers
Soft-Codec Systems
Video conferencing codecs
Custom control systems
Projectors
Proficient working Codecs (Polycom and CISCO), control systems (AMX, Extron and Crestron), Audio video matrix switchers (Crestron, Extron, and AMX), and Digital Signal Processors (ClearOne, Extron and Biamp)
Certifications
Avixa CTS-D Certification
Educational Requirements:
3 years design experience desired.
InfoComm CTS-D desired. Bachelor’s degree in math- or science-related field, or 5 years senior field tech / QA experience required.
Qualifications/Skills:
Technical Skills – Ability to convert customer needs and requirements into system descriptions and bills of material. Must be able to communicate proposed system functionalities to customers.
Software Proficiency – MS Office applications and AutoCAD required.
Familiarity with control and DSP programming is a plus.
Operational Skills – Extensive knowledge of audio, video and control systems as well as architectural coordination and cabling requirements. Proficiency with various network designs and applications. Strong basic math and writing skills. Major manufacturer training desired.
Personal Skills – Detail-oriented. Organized. Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to research and train on products as self-directed. Ability to direct the work of others. Technical supervisory experience a plus.
