Development Operations Supervisor - Social Work Research & Public Service
Regular Full-time, Pay Range MR14
This new position will work independently on grant funded projects requiring senior, expert-level, advanced application and database development skills. These projects require application design, database design, cybersecurity assessment, and technical writing. This position will work independently with State government and other grantors to determine technologies, design products, and implement solutions. The position will supervise application development staff and mentor and coordinate the work of other developer positions under the supervision of the IT Team unit lead manager for the department. Design, code, test, implement,support web-based database applications, data reporting, business analytics, and other technological solutions. Perform project management and product research. Meet independently with internal and external customers to create product specifications, implement solutions, and maintain customer relationships. Other duties as required.
Job Functions/Responsibilities:
Software and Application Development
* Independently develop and maintain web-based database applications using Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft ASP.net, and PHP programming
* Choose development tools, products, and methods for use by development team
* Assess product cybersecurity needs and protect data integrity, privacy, and security
* Create product requirements and features
* Implement and maintain version control
* Develop and support internal and external websites
* Create reports and dashboard-style data presentations
* Design and create databases, stored procedures and scripts
* Provide direction to development team and collaborate with system administrator
Project Management
* Provide project leadership as lead developer for specific software development products
* Provide leadership and direction for development team
* Independent responsibility for requirements engineering and design of product
* Manage milestones, feature list, budget, and development path for technological solutions
* Develop and maintain positive creative relationships with internal and external customers
Team supervision
* Supervise development and technical staff
* Supervise contract staff assigned to lead developer projects
* Collaborate with team leadership to create and implement policy
* Work closely with lead system administrator to advocate for development team and project needs
* Collaborate with external information technology units and external consultants
