Sr. Academic Data Analyst

General Summary/Purpose
The mission of the Office of Assessment and Evaluation (OAE) is to enhance the educational programs in the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (JHUSOM) through evidence-based best practices in the assessment of learners and the evaluation of programs. The position works closely with OAE team members and other analytic teams on multiple assessment and evaluation projects. This includes the Precision Education data lake project to provide data more efficiently by utilizing the tools to analyze and enhance educational programs and outcomes in the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (JHUSOM) through evidence-based best practices in the assessment of learners and the evaluation of programs.
This role is responsible for data analytics and additional support of performance measures, ongoing measurement, data collection, reporting, data visualizations and information dissemination. Responsible for participating in the strategic design and maintenance of business intelligence applications. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. Ensures that the use of business intelligence applications enhances clinical & business decision-making capabilities. Works under the supervision of the Director, Office of Assessment and Evaluation.
Ensures that the use of business intelligence applications enhances clinical and/or business decision making capabilities. Contributes to moderately complex to complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Engages in data exploration exercises with a variety of complex business intelligence tools, requiring knowledge of relational database structures. Collaborates with other analytic teams and central engineering team as directed.

Minimum Qualifications
Additional education may substitute for experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
* JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for the required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job. *
Preferred Qualifications
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Required Licensure Certification, etc.:
Epic Data Warehouse internal certification required within 6 months for positions working with patient-related data. A certification such as Certified Analytics Professional, project management, or a certification in a data analytic tool such as Tableau Software, or Epic required.

During the Influenza ("the flu") season, as a condition of employment, The Johns Hopkins Institutions require all employees who provide ongoing services to patients or work in patient care or clinical care areas to have an annual influenza vaccination or possess an approved medical or religious exception. Failure to meet this requirement may result in termination of employment.
The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
