Schedule: Flexible Schedules Available (Monday – Friday, and weekend hours)
Assist members of the Student Health Center with providing patient care. Act as a liaison between patients and other medical personnel to answer questions or offer guidance.
The main focus of these positions is to perform case investigations via telephone for students testing positive for Covid-19 and daily check-in calls via telephone on those positives. Conduct telephone calls and follow up and check-in calls with students, as needed.
NURSES: -Monitor, report, and record symptoms or changes in patient conditions. -Administer medical testing, medications, provide vaccinations, and render treatment to patients. -Maintain accurate, complete health care records and reports. -Communicate with other medical professionals. -Assess, implement, plan, or evaluate patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members. -Modify patient health treatment plans as indicated by patient conditions and responses. -Respond to inquiries, concerns, and complaints from patients. -Track and maintain medical supply inventory along with other staff members. -Counsel patients before, during, and after treatment.
LPNs: -Plan and manage patient care according to each patient’s needs. -Interview patients and record medical history and physical condition. -Obtain patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration. -Provide routine care for patients.
MEDICAL ASSISTANTs: -Verifies patient information by interviewing patients, recording medical history, and confirming the visit’s purpose. -Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; and reporting patient history summary.
All other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Required:
NURSES -3+ years’ nursing experience. -Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required. -Valid Rhode Island nursing license. -Experience in college health or adolescent medicine preferred. -Excellent bedside manner and communication skills -Ability to explain treatments and conditions -Working knowledge of health care laws and regulations
LPNS -Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing -2+ years’ nursing experience -Up to date first aid and CPR certification -Current LPN license in the state -Willingness to work evenings and weekends -Exceptional staff training and customer service skills -Compassionate and friendly demeanor
MEDICALASSISTANTS -Proficiency in administrative tasks -Basic understanding of clinical tasks -Excellent interpersonal skills -Ability to communicate effectively -Exceptional attention to detail -Familiarity with digital record systems
