Key Roles Develops, implements, and maintains sound and effective inventory and procurement policies and procedures that ensure the integrity and reliability of materials for all EKPC facilities including capital projects, investment recovery, operations, and maintenance. Manages the activities of all materials staff on a regular basis and maintains overall authority and accountability for all EKPC stock material locations. Assists in developing and implementing overall Supply Chain strategy initiatives. Key Responsibilities • Responsible for developing and implementing short and long-term goals and strategies for Materials Management department. • Assists Director of Supply Chain to develop overall department strategy and goals. • Responsible to develop the overall plan and guidance to staff for utilizing best practices for inventory management and technology including up-to-date technology, key performance metrics, inventory control procedures and accuracy, determination procedures for appropriate safety stock levels, EOQ and reorder points/quantities. • Assists with the procurement and negotiation of stock material as appropriate. • Serves as a backup for Sr. Sourcing Agents for complex sourcing projects and assists to develop high level negotiations strategy. • Identifies prudent and economical stock transfer opportunities, and the integrity of stock data to ensure the continuity of the overall operation. • Orchestrates, identifies, and implements continual process improvements in inventory efficiencies and effectiveness, including development of a shared inventory concept internally and externally. • Facilitates communication between employees from various user departments, materials staff, and purchasing to support materials planning and to determine the most cost effective and efficient method of sourcing in order to minimize EKPC total supply chain materials costs. • Maintains a close working relationship with sourcing and key staff in generation and transmission in developing supply chain programs. • Establishes effective inventory controls, best practices, and operating procedures for all EKPC materials staff. • Serves on Transmission and Generation Material Standards Committees and helps to develop standards for all materials. • Provides coaching to direct reports for performance and development goals, and manages their performance throughout the year. • Ensures sufficient resources and training are available to perform work assigned to all materials staff. • Through the recommendations of the Material Standards Committee, directs the identification and disposal of surplus, obsolete, and scrap materials and equipment. • Responsible for investment recovery and market knowledge to maximize return on investment. • Provides management with advice and recommendations for quality improvement within the Supply Chain Department and champions supply chain activities that support corporate strategic goals. • Develops and adheres to all supply chain materials budgets. • Develop stock and non-stock procedures in coordination with internal customers. • Performs other duties as assigned. |
