Employment Type: Permanent Staff (SHRA) Vacancy ID: P012278 Salary Range: $45,000 - $50,000 Position Summary/Description: The MBA Student Engagement Manager creates, executes and manages a seamless student experience for Evening & Weekend MBA students enrolled throughout the year. In addition to weekly class sessions (from 35 to 225 students), events range from large scale (1000+) to small events through student groups and must be of high quality, very organized and within budget. Examples include orientations, graduation, multi-day class weekends (lodging, meals, socials, classrooms, transportation, etc...) and weekly class sessions. Responsibilities include managing vendor relations and negotiations, selecting venues and menus, partnering with facilities staff and IT staff, reserving classrooms, handling on-site issues, coordinating staff & volunteer assistance, and surveying students to ensure continuous improvement. In addition, the position is responsible for marketing & regular communication of events and provides details to all stakeholders involved. Budgetary management includes planning, tracking, and staying within budget, processing invoices, and requesting approvals when needed. The position will address student questions and issues – handling whenever possible – and escalating when needed. The position also engages with faculty regarding teaching, presentations, scheduling, materials, and technology. This is a front-facing, highly visible role expected to be present at events; works within a matrix structure, directly interfacing with students, faculty, and staff at all levels. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Essential Skills: The Working Professional MBA Student Engagement team is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, professional to manage all logistics related to graduation, orientation events and in-person class logistics. We are a fast paced, student focused team who works diligently to ensure that working professional students receive a top-notch in-person experience. We require a skilled, professional with experience coordinating and executing high quality events. Skills required, but not limited to the following: *strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude *ability to manage multiple time-sensitive competing priorities *exceptional attention to detail and ability to anticipate issues and needs *strong familiarity with project management methodologies and documentation *demonstrated ability to organize information from multiple sources *proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint *proven ability to creatively solve problems *exceptional written communication skills for program wide communication and website updates *collaborative approach to work across departments to achieve goals *customer service-focused *ability to work some nights & weekends Preferred : Experience working with MBA or other graduate students in a project management type role including management of significant logistics such as events, catering and student services, is preferred.
