As a Pharmacy Procurement Specialist, Acute Care you need to know how to: - Assist Pharmacy leadership in the development of the pharmacy procurement’s annual goals and budgets and assists in adherence to the budget and stewardship targets. Participate in fiscal accountability of services, planning, annual operating plans, business plans for new services and human resource structure.
- Monitor and report on utilization and purchasing trends to ensure optimal inventory management, optimal cost, and consideration with 340B requirements.
- Collaborate with leadership on identifying and implementing mechanisms to design, measure, maintain, and improve the performance and quality services.
- Partner with leadership team to identify and drive quality and performance improvement initiatives. Influence the development and execution of pharmacy plans and initiatives.
- Implement new processes, operational improvements, programs, and initiatives, and lead the procurement team to achieve success within these programs. Facilitate collaboration to share and implement best practices
- Assist care site pharmacy teams (and EVS, if applicable) with proper disposal or return of wasted pharmaceuticals, ensuring compliance with all manufacturer and FDA instructions and maintains documentation on actions taken.
- Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of system infrastructure and business processes to support SCL Health Pharmacy Services’ leadership in establishing short and long term strategic goals.
- Coordinate people and processes including yearly evaluation and ordering of influenza vaccine, coordination of onboarding activities for pharmacy buyer associates, and development of tools to enhance volume and price decision-making processes for pharmacy buyer associates
- Prepare and present business plans, reports, and other statistical data.
- Monitor supply inventories and other items such as equipment purchases.
- Assist with collecting, submitting, and following progress of service/vendor contracts through Supply Chain review system. Maintain timely progress by following up with various stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines and established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Participate with management team and staff in development of action plans in line with the organization's strategic initiatives and goals.
Your experience. We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require: - Bachelor’s in Pharmacy or PharmD degree is required, Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of pharmaceutical procurement experience is required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of pharmacy operations experience is required.
- Valid state board of pharmacy license from United States or US territory is required.
- Completion of Apexus 340B University is preferred.
- Project and/or program management experience is preferred.
