Requirements: Media Relations: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or related field, acceptance into Belmont University’s Sport Administration graduate program or another approved graduate program, and 1-2 years of experience in the athletic media relations’ field. Must have proven written and oral communications skills, with the ability to produce creative content, press releases, game notes, media guides and other game day materials. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Spark, Audition, etc.), NCAA Genius & Stat Crew statistical software and social media management platforms (Hootsuite, TweetDeck, comparable) required. Experience with HTML and Netitor, XOS, NeuLion, PrestoSports or comparable online content management system a plus. Previous intercollegiate athletic SID experience preferred. Involves periodic travel and night/weekend hours. Digital Media/Live Event Production: Bachelor’s degree in media studies, journalism, communications, audio/video production or related field with at least one year of experience in the athletic media relations field, preferably in an intercollegiate athletics environment. Experience in video production (specifically NewTek Tricaster, Ross XPression, LiveU or comparable), instant replay (NewTek or comparable), and editing (Adobe Creative Cloud or comparable). Proven leadership in live video production environment strongly desired, as well as experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Adobe InDesign. Involves periodic travel and night/weekend hours. Start date is flexible but recommended no later than August 1, 2021. Additionally, applicants must submit to a criminal background check, subject to review and approval by Belmont University.
Compensation: The Graduate Assistant positions are two-year assignments beginning with the 2021-22 academic year and include a tuition waiver of 6 graduate credit hours plus student fees per term (summer terms excluded), up to 24 total credit hours. The positions also include a stipend. Graduate assistants must maintain at least 6 hours of graduate-level credit per semester to be eligible.
