Job Purpose This role is pivotal to ensuring compliance and strong governance standards are adopted across the Marketing function, with risks and issues remediated whilst the role holder continuously seeking to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of these processes and controls. The role will also support planning across Marketing, as well as the capability improvements. Duties/Responsibilities Key responsibilities are based on the coordination of all compliance, legal, risk and audit requirements and engagements across the wider Marketing team, as well as supporting the marketing frameworks and planning processes, aligned to the annual planning cycles within Canada Life. The role will also develop a skills and capability framework across the Marketing function working with the PX teams – helping drive out function and team level capability development plans, as well as supporting colleagues to understand the key skills required to support their career path and to access development tools where appropriate. Implement and coordinate best practise governance and controls for marketing, including ensuring the risk management framework and culture is fully embedded in the marketing team in our drive to create a customer centric, data driven team who strive to deliver positive customer outcomes within our regulatory regimes. Ensure the teams are fully briefed on risk appetites and processes, and maintain appropriate controls, oversight and reporting. To liaise with teams and risk functions to ensure horizon scanning, market and regulatory change understood and impact assessed against marketing's plan, Business Continuity, IDD and RCSAs etc completed in a timely manner. Lead the development and maintenance of a marketing capability and talent framework working across the teams to build future capability and talent, and support career pathways and professional development. Support planning activity and tracking across the Marketing team, including supporting the financial planning and reporting cycles Key Accountabilities To coordinate the department's compliance with all relevant risk and governance processes and policies including ensuring that all team members work within the risk and governance framework. Manage, monitor and report operational risks appropriately on a regular basis, minimising reputational damage and costs (including up to date Business Continuity Plans and Department Risk Registers, Record of Processing Activities etc.) Accountable for ensuring that Marketing activities consider good customer outcomes and treat customers fairly Accountable for ensuring that the Marketing elements of projects are well-managed, monitored and delivered. To lead the ongoing tracking of capability and talent frameworks across the team. Developing appropriate plans to manage and enhance the team. Desired Knowledge / Experience / Skills Strong experience working within Marketing areas, in particular with sound knowledge of planning and compliance obligations, performance measurement and financial controls.
