The Division of Biostatistics in the School of Public Health seeks a 100% Division Administrator to lead business strategy and administrative operations for the division. Responsibilities: Business Strategy and Administrative Operations (45%) Function as senior adviser to Division Head and faculty leadership. Provide leadership and oversight of all aspects of administrative management of the Division’s complex and diverse subject matter areas, leveraging professional partnerships across SPH to help set and achieve Division goals. Responsible for developing and implementing strategic objectives in support of short- and long-term goals of the Division using professional expertise and experience to devise new methods to analyze and measure achievements and identify areas in need of improvement. Develop, implement, oversee, and evaluate programs to address those needs and put into operation performance targets, strategic initiatives, financial planning/management, and HR allocation.
Consult and collaborate with senior leaders in the Division and in the School of Public Health Dean's Office; provide analysis and recommendations on business, finance, facilities, compliance, and operational matters. Make evidence-based decisions by integrating information from a variety of appropriate sources to evaluate alternatives and program performance. Engage in partnerships within the Division, across the School of Public Health, and throughout the greater University community to help support strategic initiatives and leverage both new and existing resources to advance performance. Contribute to functional steering committee/teams with objectives to improve operations, efficiency, quality, communications, and operationalize performance excellence.

Fiscal Operations (20%) Responsible oversight of Finance Manager in defining, analyzing, measuring, interpreting, and presenting key Division data and information for management, strategic, and executive level decision making. This includes the creation of a new, more effective and solid financial reporting structure/organization between Division and School as well as mission-based and productivity metric reports within the Division. Identify tools and resources to aid in bringing Biostatistics Operations to the forefront of innovation, competency, and efficient productivity. Assess cost benefit to such investments.
Manage fiscal operation of the Division to support successful accomplishment of the teaching, research, and service missions. Lead the development and guidance of Division spending practices and procedures consistent with annual budget and long-range goals. Promote consistency, regulatory compliance, efficiency, and stewardship in fiscal activities. Responsible to ensure adherence to institutional policies, procedures, and practices, including compliance and audit requirements. Oversee production of reports to facilitate management and serve strategic needs, such as faculty productivity and grant submission trends.
Staff Management and Administration (20%) Provide overall operational leadership and supervision to unit managers and professional staff to encompass communication, effective/efficient planning, oversight, monitoring, evaluation, and problem/conflict resolution. Partner with SPH Human Resources to develop and implement Division hiring practices that align with SPH hiring processes to promote diversity. Increase cooperation between Division service areas to align resources to best fit changing needs and operate as a unified team in support of shared priorities. Responsible for assessing staffing/costing needs of the Division. Monitor goals based on coordinated strategies and priorities, balancing Division goals, priorities, and efficient use of resources across multiple service areas.
Function independently in directing the work of staff as this position provides leadership and expertise in operational business management across the Division. Establish high standards of performance for self and team and ensure the team understands division goals and provides honest and timely performance feedback, develop staff to plan for succession, and set the example of results-based achievement. Communicate and interact effectively across multiple reporting relationships and to collaborate with other administrators and managers in process improvement and best practices.
CCBR Resource Management and Administration (15%) Provide administrative oversight and strategy in to meet the evolving/developing needs of the CCBR. Collaborate with the Director, Associate Director, and Division Head to develop strategic priorities for the CCBR that align with the strategic priorities of the Division of Biostatistics. Build and maintain productive relationships with CCBR faculty and staff; serve as liaison with grant accountants as needed. Provide one-on-one consultation to address and effectively manage barriers to productivity.
