The position reports to the Director of Employer Relations and Communications and coordinates recruiting activities and helps manage employer services and partnerships; assists with event management including career fairs, employer workshops and informational sessions; assists in managing interview scheduling; works with Director on the planning and execution of Employer Partner Meetings; facilitates sponsorship outreach; supervises and trains a highly functional group of student interns and event coordination teams to plan and host recruiting events; assists with development and monitoring of recruiting program budgets, utilizes Career Services operating system to manage events and recruiting; collects and analyzes data to provide necessary reporting; assists with communications including employer newsletter, event invitations and social media management.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Develops, plans, coordinates and manages all aspects of assigned events and employer recruiting activities
Utilizes the Career Management System and data collection and management tools to track and maintain records of participation and engagement specific to career fairs, interviews, and assigned company events
Provides consultation to employers for developing effective recruiting strategies for sourcing and recruiting students for full-time, internship and part-time employment opportunities
Facilitates sponsorship outreach and partnership agreements and manages shared commitments
Collaborates with Director to plan and host Employer Advisory Committee meetings and manages continued engagement and relationships throughout the year
Contributes to the unit’s budget model and management and monitors, analyzes, and reconciles projected and actual revenue and expenses; alerts Director of Employer Relations and Communications of any significant anticipated changes in event activity, revenue, and expenses
Recruits, hires, schedules, trains, and supervises student, on-call, and temporary employees, and volunteers for events and recruiting activities in order to ensure high quality service and program execution accuracy
Recommends, develops, and conducts training programs for interns, staff, and volunteers as it relates to event and recruiting services management
Coordinates, evaluates, and prepares reports on event and recruiting activity; makes recommendations to Director and other stakeholders to maintain or improve event and recruiting programs and outcomes
Contribute to the development and execution of a student and employer communications and marketing strategy for mock interviews, career fairs and other employer events
Utilizes the Career Management System and other systems to market interview opportunities and events to students and employers to ensure high levels of engagement and participation
Monitors Career Services Management System daily to filter and monitor requests for interviews, event registrations, and company events to ensure they are processed timely and accurately
Maintains health and safety standards for on-campus events in order to ensure compliance with University, State, and Federal rules and regulations
Maintains inventory and orders supplies as necessary
Schedules meetings with employers, departments, and staff as needed to ensure event and recruiting processes and goals are communicated and understood by all stakeholders
Acts as a liaison between vendors and Career Services to obtain required space and materials to execute events and recruiting programs
Represents Career Services as requested at employer meetings and events
Collaborates with campus partners and CSN staff to support programming and event planning Collects student and employer activity data accurately within established department and University protocols and procedures, and creates engaging reports
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
knowledge equivalent to that which would normally be acquired in a four year college degree in Public Relations, Communications, Business or in an area related to the work being performed; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible and expansive work experience in a field related to the position including planning and managing special events; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated experience managing large, complex projects and events, including university career fairs and recruiting events; experience developing and managing budgets and developing forecasting models; proven success in developing and managing employer relations and related advisory groups; Ability to adapt to emerging and changing needs of the department and key stakeholders. Self-starter. Proficient in Microsoft Office products especially Outlook, Word, and Excel. Ability to interpret and present information clearly and accurately in writing and verbally to diverse audiences.
Requires a valid vehicle operator’s license.
