RSP is seeking a studio leader. Position Summary The National Market Sector Leader – Retail/Mixed-Use: portfolio steward and market champion across the firm for assigned segments. The role serves to create business strategies in support of the portfolio mix, acting as a liaison to clients and external partners toward accomplishment of client satisfaction and RSP profitability and creating competitive position through long-lasting value. Reports to: Senior Director of Retail Sector Direct Reports: Total team: Average team size 30 (5 to 6 direct reports) Other Key Relationships: Board of Directors Principals Operational Leaders External Key Relationships: Clients, Developers, Professional Organizations Position Location: Flexible; Currently Minneapolis, MN Roles & Responsibilities Industry Leader · Serve as a strategic RSP thought leader providing input regarding relevant market sector considerations and opportunities · Demonstrated success in generating top and bottom line revenue/earnings – a demonstrated rainmaker · Foster existing and potential client relationships to maximize value for RSP Team Leader · Effectively recruit, develop and retain a high performing team to meet short and long-term business needs · Leverage strengths of team members and clarify/realign the team structure, roles and responsibilities to support the continued success of RSP · Promote and engage teamwork/collaboration across RSP by coordinating and communicating across the Organization, ensuring well-orchestrated work efforts (Seller/Doer) · Set expectations and manage performance of the team, providing regular mentoring, feedback and accountability to ensure that individual and organizational goals are met Design Leader · Demonstrate capability of developing innovative, creative and effective design solutions for a retail/mixed use market segment · Provide leadership and oversight to the project and studio teams on design concepts and ideas from pursuit to completion of projects · Develop and regularly monitor key sector trends for identification of business impacts · Build organizational capacity to support market sector growth through networking and business development Process Leader · Demonstrates a holistic understanding of the project lifecycle and process controls valued by RSP · Ensures that the studio/project team needs and goals are anticipated, planned for and met · Develops strategic and operational ideas for improvements, including design delivery, project management and adoption of best practices for RSP Leadership Competencies As a leader at RSP Architects the Retail/Mixed-Use Market Sector Leader is expected to demonstrate the following leadership competencies: Alignment of personal values with firm values Demonstrates a well-honed sense of judgment, and the highest levels of discretion and prudence.
