Job Summary
The mission of Information and Technology is to create and support an information technology environment that enhances the ability of the UC Davis community to teach, do research and provide public service. In support of the University's mission, IT will deliver an infrastructure of technological services appropriate to the requirements of the campus community.
This role will provide leadership, project management and other assigned duties relating to Epic Tapestry module and will work with cross-functional teams and end users along with Senior and Executive Stakeholders to ensure appropriate workflow development, testing and training of application functionality.
Responsibilities include designing, developing, testing and implementing all aspects of Epic Tapestry, these includes Benefit Engine, AP Claims/Contract, CRM, Capitation, Eligibility, and Epic Reporting. The incumbent will also manage research, analysis, planning, development, testing and end user training. Will be responsible of maintenance of Benefit Engine system configuration which is the critical key in managed care payable claim adjudication. Will provide additional support to other Tapestry modules (Referral, Eligibility, Capitation, AP Claims/Contracts). Additionally, incumbent will provide support end-user needs in Epic workbench report, Slicer Dicer, Radar Dashboard, and Clarity reporting.

REQUIRED:
Excellent understanding of managed care areas of the healthcare business including Utilization Management, Case Management, AP Claims, Contracts, Benefit Engine, Capitation and Eligibility.
Experience with electronic AP Claims and Remittance functionality and/or knowledge of industry standard EDI transactions (837, 277, and 835) required
Strong knowledge of Utilization Management processes in a delegated model including authorizations, denials, appeals and regulatory compliance.
Experience with CPT codes, diagnosis codes, payment methods including fee schedules, RBRVS, DRGs that support AP Claim payments.
Experience HMO health plan benefits including capitation, carve outs, maximum out-of-pocket expenses, copays, co-insurance, coordination of benefits and familiarity with non-HMO products.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
Previous experience with re-engineering and process improvement techniques.
PREFERRED:
Expert knowledge of SDLC and utilization of project management tools and methodologies with proven competency in managed care operations.
Experience creating reports using Clarity platform, Crystal Reports, Crystal Enterprise Reporting tools or similar.
Experience and in depth knowledge of application development tools such as Oracle, Visual Basic, VB.net, Java, C++ and advance Access for developers.
Certification in Tapestry, Benefits Engine and/or AP Claims and Reporting preferred.
Capitation, Eligibility, Benefits Engine build experience preferred.
Academic institution or large integrated health system experience preferred.
Knowledge of Agile or Scrum methodologies preferred.
