Principal Business Systems Analysis - Technology/Custody Job tasks include: Support our client book of business representing all areas of Custody technology Work with clients to ensure we capture their requirements and taking them into account as we modernize our Custody stack End to end responsibility for planning, managing and delivering projects, including business specifications, functional specifications, technology builds, testing, training and communication, organizational readiness, client migration planning and execution Establish and manage relationships with project sponsors, stakeholders and participants from Product, Technology, Operations, Client Service, and partner organizations members to identify areas for technical and operational improvement Follow-up on outstanding action points raised during project meetings and ensure the coordination of projects throughout their life-cycle including gathering requirements, working on the implementation schedule and organizing testing pre-release. Develop and support project plans through strategy development, project definition, and implementation, particularly for the adoption of any user tools Write and provide sign-off on Business Requirement documents/User stories ensuring that any proposed solution has been syndicated with the relevant parties prior to implementation Assume the product owner role (agile methodology) to manage the execution of the reporting work stream from scope planning to go-live based on agile methodology including ABC phase planning, backlog grooming, stories definition and sprint/iteration planning including stakeholder and executive stakeholder meeting for status and actions Identify opportunities to automate workflow Review industry best practice for workflow Skills and qualities needed Considerable experience in a Banking environment with product and change management experience Strong Excel & PowerPoint skills Working knowledge of Visio and SharePoint Experience in process flow analysis/mapping Fluent in English; preference for multiple languages though not essential Strong project management capabilities Delivery and ownership focused Ability to analyze business models/practices and identify innovative solutions Interface with all levels in the organization from senior management to process participants Effectively communicate key messages, and simplify complex business situations Able to influence senior management to adopt change to current practice/process Navigate a global organization and be able to prioritize competing objectives Organized and efficient with ability to work within small teams or as an individual contributor, within reporting deadlines. Leads technical/non-functional analysis and design, solves problems and provides solutions for technical challenges; including data retention and integration; Identifies gaps in system controls and protocols and drives best practice. Ensures quality gates are met for software development deliverables, including code reviews, performance, security and architectural principles. Responsible for system rationalization, reverse engineering, working with vendor products and builds technical plans. Validates solutions by testing results. Manages junior staff and virtual teams, works individually or as part of a team. Provides comprehensive senior-level technical consulting to IT management and senior technical staff. Evaluates compliance with the organization's technology standards. Analyzes, defines and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks, controls, and outputs using BNY Mellon's standard development methodology. Works with technical teams to resolve technical challenges and identify technical/non-functional requirements, including working directly with vendors. Provides oversight of project plans and technical deliverables. Consults with IT management and technical staffs regarding use of emerging and existing technologies and associated services. Takes lead for establishing, implementing and monitoring 'best practices' for technical development methodologies and tools. Manages junior roles and provides mentoring and coaching proposes and advocates for innovative, creative technology solutions. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required 10-12+ years of experience in software development required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
