Our client is a successful Private Equity-backed niche casual dining chain. With the backing of the Private Equity investor, it is embarking on a growth path, with expansion plans both within the German market and abroad. As part of that growth, it is looking to expand the finance team with an ambitious Financial Controller. The position will be based in the firm's headquarters in Munich. In this position, you will work closely with the CFO, establishing reporting and controlling structures and improving internal processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Operational steering and controlling of this strongly growing business
  • Implementation and optimisation of management information systems and key performance indicators
  • Involvement in the coordination and preparation of monthly reporting and annual financial statements
  • Preparation of regular target and actual performance analysis including deviation commentary, forecasts and ad hoc analyses for the executive management and the shareholders
  • Short and medium-term budget planning
  • Involvement in the continuous improvement of the reporting function and of the digitization of reporting processes
  • Enabling non-financial employees to provide relevant financial data and reports and foster understanding and appreciation of the finance function across the organisation
  • Involvement in special projects, as appropriate, such as support of M&A transactions
  • Implementing and developing financial controls, internal standards and IT tools
  • Close interaction with the management team and investors
YOUR PROFILE:
  • University degree in Business Administration, Finance or related disciplines with a focus on Controlling and Accounting
  • Initial relevant work experience gained in an operational controlling position or in the transaction advisory / deal advisory department of a professional services firm
  • An affinity with the gastronomy / leisure sector is a plus, but not a must
  • Excellent MS Office skills (in particular Excel and Access); VBA is a strong plus
  • Good knowledge of the German accounting and accounting systems is beneficial
  • Strong analytical skills and an affinity for numbers and IT systems
  • A pro-active, collaborative and hands-on approach is essential to succeed in this position
  • A team player with an eye for detail, a self-starter, driven to excel in a dynamic and entrepreneurial set-up
  • Fluency in German and English is required
