Hanover Regional Animal Hospital is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join our team!
We are a busy 2-doctor, progressive and paperless practice that offers state-of-the art medical care for the Wilmington community. We are highly focused on wellness care as well as dental care and oral health. Our team are Fear Free Certified Professionals and also offer exotics pet care as well as Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. Wilmington is a busy town that has many amenities to offer her residents and their furry family members. We practice a culture of wellness through our Paw Plans-which are “packages” custom tailored by our entire team to provide best practice medicine for all level types of clients and pets
We are highly focused on dentistry and oral health-We have one technician that hopes to become VTS certified in dentistry and utilizes those skills learned to train the tech team
Three full time Licensed Veterinary Technicians on staff-including our Hospital Manager
After hour emergencies and daytime board certified specialty services are provided by a local emergency and referral hospital
Availability for Telemedicine consults for both dental and digital radiographs
We are able to utilize the services of a mobile boarded surgeon to perform both orthopedic and soft tissue “in house' as needed.
Our Equipment Includes:
Digital X-Ray
Ultrasound Machine
Therapeutic K-Laser-Our tech staff is fully trained to perform these procedures
Complete in-house laborator , as well as referral lab services provided through Idexx
Dedicated surgery suite
Dedicated and fully equipped dental capacity, including digital dental radiographs (all equipment has been replaced within the last 8 months).
Electronic medical records utilizing Avimark system-we actively work to improve this on an ongoing basis
Qualifications:
An ideal candidate is outgoing and able to easily connect and communicate with patients and team members alike. Is passionate about providing high levels of clinical care in the exam room as well as the surgical suite.
A Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) from an accredited university
Licensure in good standing to practice in North Carolina
Job Responsibilities:
Develop a rapport with clients and determine their needs and wishes; perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures in a way that delivers the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
Explain physical examination finding and communicate diagnoses; generate and present treatment plans, educate clients on preventive health care, including vaccines and appropriate nutritional products.
Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and ensure all necessary logs are kept up to date through established protocols; assist colleagues in follow up and future management of patients.
Stay up to date with changes in veterinary medicine by routinely attending continuing education.
Assist in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure the delivery of the highest quality patient care and client service.
Positively represent the hospital in the professional and public communities.
Other duties as assigned.
